Hello! Canada
|April 22, 2024 (Issue 918/919)
In the wake of her separation from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau just nine months ago, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau is opening up to the world with a new book that focuses on her history, her future and the mental health practices it takes to stay strong.

Throughout the pages of Closer Together: Knowing Ourselves, Loving Each Other - which hits bookshelves on April 23 - Canada's former first lady dives into childhood memories, her battle with an eating disorder, relationships (including first kisses) and, of course, her family, pairing each topic with interviews from experts to create a hybrid literary work: memoir and wellness guide.
"I want to connect," Sophie, 48, told Elle Canada. "And I want to give [away some] of myself as well. So for me, this is not just a book - it's a connector and [something] I want people to feel welcomed into."
