The Olympic icon shares his secret to balancing life, love and lightning speed
Andre De Grasse's life moves fast – literally. The seven-time Olympic medallist and superstar sprinter is known for his record-breaking speed on the track. And he takes it all in stride. “I don’t think about the pressure,” says the 30-year-old athlete, who’s training for the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. “When you have people out there cheering your name and cheering for your country, that really helps.”
It also helps that he’s got so much to focus on outside of work. Andre has three children – Titus, 10, Yuri, 7, and Kenzo, 4 – with partner Nia Ali (an American track-and-field Olympian) as well as his own charity, the Andre De Grasse Family Foundation, that helps young people access sports, education and health care.
“I have a lot on my plate to balance, so it can get overwhelming,” he admits. “But I have a great support system that gets me through.” True to his knack for peak performance, he has also been named an ambassador for AG1, a daily nutrient-dense drink that supports gut health. Here, Andre opens up to Hello! Canada about what fuels his famous drive.
