A VERY DIPLOMATIC MARRIAGE

A whirlwind romance leads to a fairytale ending for British consul general Fouzia Younis and her Canadian sweetheart

It all feels so surreal,” says Fouzia Younis. “I set foot in Canada for the first time in April 2023 to take up my appointment as the British consul general in Toronto. Fast-forward and now I’m married to a Canadian!”

It’s been a heady couple of years for the accomplished and glamorous diplomat, who tied the knot with her beau, Kashif Sayed, in a ceremony that brought their loved ones together in her home city of Birmingham, England.

“I didn’t want a large, impersonal wedding where you invite people you barely know,” says the glowing bride, who shared photos of her special day exclusively with Hello! Canada. “I wanted something intimate, filled with love and joy... Thankfully, Kashif and I were completely aligned on that.”
