'I THINK I'M PART BRITISH AT HEART'

Grammy Awardwinning singer Gregory Porter tells us why, of all his accolades, a chat with the Princess of Wales meant the most

American jazz and soul singer Gregory Porter has performed for millions of devoted fans all over the world, but one of his most treasured moments was singing for the Princess of Wales.

Speaking exclusively to HELLO! ahead of his UK tour, the 53-year-old Grammy Award winner, whose voice has been described as "liquid gold", opens up about the special evening, during which he performed his much-loved song Do You Hear What I Hear?.

"She was gorgeous," says Gregory, who was one of the celebrity musical guests at Together at Christmas, Kate's carol service at Westminster Abbey in December, after a challenging year in which the Princess underwent preventative chemotherapy for cancer.

"She spent a lot of time talking to me and we had a great conversation. Her grace, humility and strength... she's really had a tumultuous year in terms of her health." The California-based singer adds that although he didn't meet Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, he would gladly give the royal siblings a singing lesson.
