The King hosts stars including George and Amal Clooney at Buckingham Palace as they celebrate outstanding youngsters
The King pulled in some serious star power – including George and Amal Clooney – to honour young people being recognised at Buckingham Palace for their extraordinary achievements.
The monarch was joined by the Hollywood star and the human-rights lawyer, along with young prizewinners and a host of famous faces, at a reception held on the eve of The King’s Trust and TK Maxx & Homesense Awards.
The Clooneys were there to support 19-yearold Alice Ngitira, from Kenya, the winner of The King’s Trust International Amal Clooney Women’s Empowerment Award.
Cosmetics guru Charlotte Tilbury, who also attended the event in the palace’s Picture Gallery, sponsored the prize.
Speaking to HELLO! on the red carpet at London's Royal Festival Hall ahead of the ceremony the next day, Amal described spending time with His Majesty as “fantastic”.
