Amanda Holden tells HELLO! how she landed her first solo gig – and why her daughters might follow in her footsteps

Amanda Holden may have 30 years in showbusiness under her belt, but audiences should already be preparing for the next generation of Holdens on TV: her daughters, Lexi and Hollie, could also be pursuing careers in the spotlight, the presenter reveals in this exclusive interview with HELLO!.

"I think Hollie will follow in my footsteps," Amanda tells us as she launches her new BBC primetime quiz show, The Inner Circle.

Indeed, during filming for the show, Hollie, 13, visited the set in Glasgow and wowed her mum while reading the autocue. "She got behind my desk and said: 'Welcome to the Inner Circle.' I was like: 'Oh my God – they should do a Junior Inner Circle, and Hollie could host it."

As for her elder daughter, Lexi, 19, who has just started her second year at university, Amanda says she has a "great work ethic" and is holding down two jobs alongside her studies.

HIGH HOPES

"She still doesn’t know what she wants to do, and I’ve said that we’re in an era now where it doesn’t really matter," says Amanda, who lives in Surrey. "Lexi’s been scouted by [the model agency] Storm, but I think she’ll end up being a fashion journalist. She’s brilliant at writing."
