Here’s why air travel is still a safe bet
-

Recent catastrophes include a plane flipping over, one plummeting into Philadelphia and a crash into the Potomac
ANXIOUS Americans are scared to take to the skies after a shocking series of plane crashes, collisions and near-misses — but experts tell GLOBE that flying is still the safest way to get around!
Four major aviation disasters — and a spate of smaller calamities — occurred within weeks of each other in the U.S., leaving increasing numbers of people jittery about traveling by jet.
“It’s got me pretty nervous,” admits Darius Kilpatrick, a passenger who recently flew from Birmingham to Charlotte. “I got to take that risk, put my faith in God and do what I got to do.”

ROCK ON!
PHIL DANIELS plays a restless London youth in the 1979 British movie Quadrophenia, based on the Who's rock opera - but oddly, the chaotic production was not a musical, and the Who does not even appear in it! The lead was supposed to go to JOHN LYDON - better known as Johnny Rotten of notorious punk band the Sex Pistols - but the film's distributors thought he was too dicey a personality to insure. Nevertheless, production did not go smoothly. The Who's legendary drummer, KEITH MOON, died during filming, and a brawl scene in the seaside city of Brighton used two real- life rival gangs, resulting in a \"real riot - health and safety didn't come into it,\" according to Daniels.
