HEAVY metal's Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne died at age 76 on July 22- less than three weeks after bravely bidding goodbye to fans at a farewell concert in his native Birmingham, England, with his Black Sabbath bandmates.

Despite being ravaged by Parkinson's disease and crippling pain stemming from an ATV accident and its related surgeries, he took to the stage at the Back to the Beginning show that raised $190 million for Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital and Acorn Children's Hospice.
