L&T secures ₹7,628 cr contract for Vajra artillery guns

The Ministry of Defence has signed a ₹7,628 crore agreement with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the procurement of K9 Vajra self-propelled artillery guns to strengthen the Army's firepower.

The contract, approved by the Cabinet Committee on Security, involves the supply of 100 advanced guns manufactured at L&T's Hazira facility in Gujarat.
The Vajra guns are designed for high-altitude operations, particularly in areas like Eastern Ladakh, where extreme weather conditions pose significant challenges.
The Army already operates 100 K9 Vajra guns, which have proven effective in extreme climates and high-altitude terrain.
