Riding the AI and Robotics Wave
Hotelier India
|May 2025
Hoteliers are betting big on new-age technologies like robotics and artificial intelligence to improve operational efficiencies
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics are fundamentally transforming hotel operations by driving greater precision, speed, and consistency in service delivery.
Being Effective
Hoteliers are using technology as an enabler, as a tool that strengthens-not replaces-the essence of hospitality. Robots are also becoming a common presence in hotel lobbies, assisting guests with information, answering questions, and even guiding them to different areas of the hotel. At JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, AI and robotics are viewed as thoughtful enablers designed to complement human service and enhance the overall guest experience.
"Robotics allows us to streamline operations, ensure consistency and improve turnaround times, all while upholding our uncompromising standards of excellence. Our most recent and celebrated advancement is Kevin, the robotic assistant at JW Café. Kevin is an intuitive, efficient team member programmed for swift table clearance and optimised for energy efficiency. His presence has transformed the dining operations by significantly reducing manual workload, ensuring faster turnaround during high-volume periods, and ultimately contributing to a smoother, more enjoyable guest experience," says Nithil Bhaskar, Director of Operations, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar.
