Ipca Laboratories launches NovaLead's patented drug Diulcus, for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcer in India.

Ipca Laboratories Ltd has launched Esmolol Hydrochloride, branded as Diulcus, a drug for treatment of diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) in India. Diulcus is a drug developed and patented by NovaLead Pharma. The drug has received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) and was partially funded by the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), a Government of India enterprise.
Diulcus demonstrated remarkable efficacy in phase-3 trials in India, with a 60.3 percent ulcer closure rate within three months of treatment. Notably, patients continued to show an ulcer closure rate of 77.20 percent over six months, even after stopping treatment at three months. These results are among the best observed for any pharmaceutical preparation used in DFU treatment.
