AFTER JOINING PLANTE MORAN'S FACILITY team in 1995, Vince Selasky thought his career might be over before it started. He was changing a lightbulb when co-founder Frank Moran walked by—it was Selasky’s first encounter with “the boss,” and he fumbled it when he accidentally dropped the bulb. It almost hit Moran’s head, then shattered on the ground.
“Frank said, ‘Be careful. We can replace the lightbulb, but we can't replace you,” recalls Selasky. “That stuck with me. It showed me that at Plante Moran, people come first.” This culture of support is what kept Selasky, now a video production specialist, at the firm for more than 30 years.
