ASELSAN's innovation-first approach is reshaping defense at home and abroad.
-
AROUND THE WORLD, DEFENSE BUDGETS ARE ON the rise. In 2024, global military expenditure saw its most dramatic surge since the Cold War, marking a decade of increased spending, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
“Today, we are witnessing profound geopolitical and technological shifts,” says Ahmet Akyol, CEO of ASELSAN, a leading defense technology firm. “From the Russia-Ukraine war to tensions in the Middle East and South Asia and the escalating dynamics in the Asia-Pacific, the global defense landscape is being redefined. This new reality is clear: Strong economies, strong militaries, and strong defense industries are inseparable.”
ASELSAN is shaping this new reality through its advanced defense systems and technologies—more than 2 million of which are already deployed worldwide. Its comprehensive portfolio includes air defense, radar, electronic warfare, land and weapon systems, and civilian solutions across transportation, security, energy, and health care. The company also develops secure communication systems, satellite and space technologies, and command-and-control solutions for military applications. With exports to 93 countries and a direct presence in 25, the company continues to expand its global footprint. In the first half of 2025 alone, it secured $2.8 billion in new contracts, solidifying its position as Türkiye's largest defense company and one of the fastest growing defense firms in the world.
