The Agrico T1000 ripper: a durable solution for effective tillage

At York Farm, just outside Ellisras in Limpopo, Johan van der Linde takes great pride in running his farm with the help of Agrico’s high-quality products and consistent service.

“What Agrico does, it does well,” he says.

York Farm specialises in growing vegetables like potatoes, butternut squash, peppers, and onions, as well as raising cattle and game. The farm uses Agrico centre pivots to sustainably irrigate crops.

Meanwhile, another Agrico machine is hard at work on the farm: the T1000 ripper. According to Van der Linde, this machine is exactly what he needed to take his farming operation to new heights.

For Van der Linde, the process of ripping is critical for the success of his crops.

“You need a ripper to tear into your soil when it’s on the dry side. That’s how you break open the soil, and after that, you can follow up with other machinery to prepare a fine seedbed for planting,” he explains.
