Cruising Heights
|December 2023
Boeing's 737 MAX 10, the largest variant in the 737 MAX family, has achieved a significant milestone in its journey towards certification.
-

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted Boeing the Type Inspection Authorization (TIA), propelling the aircraft into the final phase of flight testing essential for obtaining type certification. This announcement, shared with Boeing employees in an internal memo, signifies a critical step forward for the aerospace giant as it works to bring the MAX 10 to market.
The 737 MAX 10 is designed to cater to high-capacity routes, boasting a maximum seating capacity of 230 passengers and an impressive range of 3,300 nautical miles. With a robust order book of 963 units, Boeing is optimistic about the prospects of its stretched variant. Carriers such as Alaska, Delta, Ryanair, United, and Vietjet have already placed orders, underscoring industry confidence in the MAX 10. The aircraft's inaugural test flight in June 2021 marked a significant achievement, signalling progress after a turbulent period for the 737 MAX family.
