Excavators and motor graders are up for some very challenging times as projects get complex
-
The Indian excavator market is experiencing significant growth, driven by infrastructure development and urbanization. The market is projected to reach USD 9.13 billion by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.70% from 2025 to 2033, according to IMARC Group. Similarly, the Indian motor grader market is experiencing growth, driven by infrastructure development and urbanization. Market research firms predict a CAGR of around 5% to 5.6% between 2023 and 2031.
Indian companies are always on the move to advance the machines every year. New models are regularly launched and tweaks are made to existing ones. Considering that many OEMs in India also have a global presence, it is only right that they import some of the machines to India.
Sunil Talreja, VP, road construction equipment division, Action Construction Equipment (ACE), says, “Globally advanced equipment such as excavators and motor graders can certainly be brought to India. However, successful adoption depends on factors like terrain suitability, cost-efficiency, and ease of maintenance. This is where homegrown brands like ACE hold a distinct advantage. With a deep understanding of Indian conditions and user needs, we have already introduced high-performance motor graders that are well-suited for the country’s demanding construction and mining sectors. ACE motor graders are equipped with a powerful 180 HP fuel-efficient Ashok Leyland engine and a 15-ton operating weight, offering exceptional productivity with minimal maintenance. Notably, they feature India’s first centralized greasing system, ensuring faster servicing and greater reliability. These machines are purpose-built for heavy-duty road construction and maintenance jobs, reflecting ACE's commitment to delivering globally competitive technology tailored for Indian conditions.”Denne historien er fra July 2025-utgaven av Construction Week.
