SEAMLESS BY DESIGN: HOW BENGALURU AIRPORT'S TERMINAL 2 IS REDEFINING PASSENGER FLOW
Commercial Design
|May 2025
At Kempegowda International Airport, design and technology converge to create a travel experience that is as intuitive as it is innovative.
-
Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (BLR Airport) has always been a symbol of the city's global aspirations, but with the unveiling of Terminal 2, it has taken a bold step forward into the future of passenger experience. More than just a terminal, T2 is a case study in how thoughtful design, advanced access systems, and cultural storytelling can merge to transform airport journeys.
From the moment passengers enter the new terminal, they are met with a sense of arrival that is both grand and effortless. Framed by 3.5-meter automatic sliding doors, the entrance sets the tone for what lies ahead—a space designed not just for transit, but for comfort, efficiency, and elegance.
From Tradition to Tech: The first indian terminal with e-gates at every checkpoint
Terminal 2 has become the first airport terminal in India to introduce e-Gates across all checkpoints, a move that redefines what seamless travel means. Central to this innovation is the DigiYatra initiative, which uses facial recognition technology to identify and process passengers at various points—from check-in to security and boarding. The result? Shorter wait times, reduced congestion, and a futuristic experience that prioritizes both convenience and security.
