ENGINEERING TECHNIQUES TO OPTIMISE EVERY COMPONENT OF DESIGN

In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, workplace design plays a pivotal role in shaping the way we work, collaborate, and innovate. As organizations adapt to changing work paradigms and embrace new technologies, the demand for innovative and purpose-driven design solutions is on the rise. To gain deeper insights into the trends, challenges, and opportunities in the field of workplace design, we got into an in-depth conversation with Surabhi Kunj, the Head of JLL Design Solutions in India, for an enlightening conversation.

UNDERSTANDING CLIENT NEEDS AND OBJECTIVES

With her extensive experience in establishing and driving JLL’s India Design Solutions business, Kunj begins by sharing her strategies for aligning design solutions with client needs and objectives. She emphasises the importance of having a deep understanding of clients, regardless of whether they sit within global account frameworks. According to Kunj, this understanding is crucial for crafting design solutions that resonate with the unique requirements and aspirations of each client.

“A design thinking approach to the preplanning is key to put the right frameworks for planning the design,” Kunj notes, highlighting the significance of laying the right foundations during the initial stages of a project. By engaging with clients early on budget and cost management aspects, Kunj’s teams employ value engineering techniques to optimise every component of design and finishes. This proactive approach ensures that design solutions not only meet but exceed client expectations while staying within budgetary constraints.
