A couple in their twenties dreamed of owning a space in Bangalore's lush bylanes, nestled in a 40-year-old, apartment filled with old-world charm. Pratyusha Kethinedi, owner of House of Katha, figured out the couple's personality through heartfelt interactions, and the result was the appropriately named, 1,100 sq.ft Retro Reverie.
Context has been the guiding principle since the beginning. The apartment, surrounded by colonial bungalows and Art Deco architecture, inspired a design that blends vintage beauty with contemporary maximalism. The foyer was designed to provide a stunning entrance that transports guests to another world. The arched entryway, inspired by the balcony's visible arches, became a defining feature. The vibrant tiger-print wallpaper creates a memorable first impression, inviting guests into a personal and creative space.
