The traditional magic of inflatables
Yachting Monthly UK
|June 2023
Qwerky, our lovely little yellow dinghy, is unstable when we transfer to and from the boarding platform, so we have decided to change over to an inflatable. I have no doubt that coupled with our 2.5 Tohatsu she will do us proud. Out with the traditional and in with the new.
Inflatable technology is an incredible innovation in which we unthinkingly place enormous faith through lifejackets and liferafts. Beyond that it has expanded over my lifetime, from my dad’s faithful old Avon tender through to stand-up paddleboards, fenders and even our family tent. However, it turns out that inflatable technology isn’t as fresh an innovation as I had originally thought.
If you want a fascinating read I highly recommend
