An improbable pioneer of personal water craft
One of the most intriguing what-ifs in the wonderful history of British ingenuity and litany of crackpot invention must surely be the Vincent Amanda Water Scooter.
If only they'd got it right, the boffins at famed British motorcycle manufacturer Vincent could have enraged weekend sailors a decade and a half before the jet ski arrived on the scene. But instead of propelling Vincent into a new age, the luckless Amanda was more akin to the Sinclair C5 of its day.
