The Meteor is WildAx’s first foray into converting a standard Ford Transit, the West Yorkshire-based company having already launched vehicles on the Transit Custom.
As a brand-new model, the two-berth comes fitted with the new Transit cab, complete with the dial for gears. Just above is a display screen, with DAB radio and Bluetooth connections, as well as a reversing camera.
You also get cab air conditioning, ESC, cruise control, a leather steering wheel and gear knob, smart alloys and a metallic exterior finish.
Even with the washroom just behind the driving seat, this 6ft 6in reviewer found plenty of legroom when driving. And unlike some motorhomes with a forward kitchen and washroom, both of the cab seats swivel.
The kitchen extension could make a resting place for a cuppa. You might even set up a small office here, with the extension as a desk, using USBs in the cab and a nearby mains socket.
This area is well lit, too, with two LEDs in the centre and push-on lights next to both of the cab seats.
WildAx has updated its upholstery this year and the new colour scheme is an eye-catching russet red and blue alongside off-white.
