ALL THE STARS OF THE SHOW

At October's NEC Show numbers were up and the mood was positive, with many exciting new 'vans and motorhomes, report Peter Baber and Paul Critcher

ALL THE STARS OF THE SHOW

Some 96,149 people came through the doors of the NEC for this October's Motorhome & Caravan Show. That is slightly up on the figures for October 2024. So there were plenty of visitors, and there was plenty for them to see, too here follows our pick of the best from the halls.

Rimor cooks up a dream

A motorhome for those not wanting to miss out on cooking proved to be one of the highlights of the show.

Rimor's Sailer 56 Plus is one of five models in Rimor's new Sailer range, a name reintroduced from the past to apply to 'vans that were formerly Super Brig low profiles.

Based on a Ford Transit, the 6.95m-long four-berth includes a drop-down bed over a large parallel settee lounge with a pedestal table that folds up to provide access to the cab.

You get a side washroom with a sizeable shower cubicle. But the feature that really stands out is a large L-shaped kitchen at the rear with windows on two sides one of the largest kitchens we have ever seen in a low-profile. This comes with a three-burner hob, a 141-litre fridge with a freezer and an oven.

Trekkers adopts a new low profile stance

Swift's three new Trekker coachbuilt models with the same rugged appearance as its Trekker campervans, but low profiles - weren't quite ready for the official Swift launch this summer, so they made their debut at the NEC.

The three models are all built on a Ford Transit and come with eight-speed automatic transmission, and have an MTPLM of 3500kg so anyone can drive them.

Layout-wise, they mirror existing layouts in Swift's current Ford-based Voyager range. The 540 (£78,590) is a 7.01m-long end-washroom four-berth with a drop-down bed. The other two models are both 7.85m long, with four berths. The 584 (£79,490) has fixed single beds and a wide central washroom, while the 594 (£79,995) has an island bed.
