DOES A REFRESH KEEP THE KIGER RELEVANT IN A CROWDED SPACE?

RENAULT KIGER FACELIFT

When the Renault Kiger launched in 2021, it was a solid contender in the sub-4m SUV space. But this segment has become intensely competitive in the meantime, which makes this midlife update quite important to keep Renault in the mix in this segment. But can the Kiger continue to hold its value card with this update.

Styling, boot space

Most of the minor changes that have been made with this update are centered around the front of the Kiger. The blocky new bonnet goes with the squarish stance of this SUV and the clean face does the job too.

The trim around the new Renault logo and large airdam also create more presence. Along the side, the alloys are still 16-inchers but come with a smart sporty design now. Ground clearance is still good at 205mm. Also, the Kiger is one of the few mainstream SUVs that give you a 50 kg load rating for the roof.

There are a few more graphics but things remain largely similar at the rear. You have a blacked-out effect to the lighting and a new bumper. As before, boot space is generous at 405L but you have to continue with that very high lip.

The most noticeable change on the inside of the Renault Kiger facelift is that it now gets a dual-tone black and grey theme. This has done enough to brighten up the quite dark cabin from earlier, helped by the meshed trim on the dash and the bright yellow contrast stitching on the top trims. There is still quite a bit of gloss black that can get smudgy quickly.
