MAHINDRA SUV CONCEPTS REVEALED

Mahindra revealed its all-new NU_IQ monocoque platform along with four SUV concepts on Independence Day.

The NU_IQ monocoque platform will underpin a fleet of SUVs for the Indian and global markets. The platform has been designed to accommodate multiple powertrain options, it will be compatible with petrol, diesel, and electric powertrain options. We can also expect the battery packs from BE and XEV SUVs to make their way to the EV SUVs underpinning the NU_IQ platform. Other new features that will be included with the new platform are a variable-ratio steering rack, a 5-link rear suspension, and a new UI interface, to name a few. The car maker is aiming for 5-star BNCAP, ANCAP, and EURO NCAP ratings with the SUVs underpinning the NU_IQ monocoque platform.

Vision S

The Vision S concept underpins the NU platform and is likely to join the Scorpio family. The silhouette shows boxy or angular design for the SUV and exterior features include inverted L-shaped headlamps up front, limb risers on the bonnet, pixel shaped fog lamps, Twin Peak logo flanked by vertically stacked DRLs in a triplet fashion, roof mounted lights, roof rails, flared wheel arches with thick cladding, flush door handles, 19-inch wheels with red brake callipers, step ladder on one side and jerry can on the other, sleek camera units instead of conventional ORVMs, inverted L-shaped taillights, and spare wheel mounted on the tailgate.
