Stirling to Stirling

There are some great motorcycle routes around Stirling and Perth and Kinross, including heading up to Crieff, then either turning west to head along Loch Earn or travelling further on through the Sma' Glen to Aberfeldy then turning west to return along the north side of Loch Tay. These are fantastic rides but between the two is another route for those looking for a bit more adventure in their day ride, and it follows the single-track roads winding up and over the hillsides of Glen Quaich.

Starting from the motorway services near Stirling, it is easy to slip on to the M9 and start the ride north, but a short detour into Stirling cuts out some of the motorway and allows a flying visit to one of Stirling's historical sites, such as Stirling Castle, the Battle of Bannockburn Visitors Centre or The Wallace Monument, where 246 spiralling steps lead up to the viewing gallery with incredible views across the city and the site of William Wallace's victory at Stirling Bridge. The roads through Stirling or Bridge of Allan then lead back on to the M9 and the main route north to Crieff.
