RIDETECH BACKS UP THE TALK BY BUILDING AN 800-HP IRS-EQUIPPED 1985 FOX MUSTANG USING ITS NEW SUSPENSION SYSTEMS.
-
Talk is cheap. It's a phrase especially suited to the performance aftermarket. "Hey, buy our widgets for your hot rod project and go faster!!" Maybe, maybe not. How do you know control arm A will outperform control arm B just by looking at it? You don't. You end up buying performance parts based on the promise of improved performance, reviews by others, and the reputation of the company selling the go-fast bits.
Some companies, the forward-thinking ones, figured out that building cars using their parts and running these cars and trucks on track was a great way to back up that performance promise with some real-world data.
That brings us to Ridetech's extremely badass 1985 Mustang project. Think of it as a gas-guzzling 2025 example of an oldtimey salesman sample. It's a door-to-door salesman's Hoover vacuum for those looking to make their Fox Mustangs handle better. "Our engineering team's capabilities continue to radically improve upon desirable older vehicle platforms, giving them modern handling technology that blows old suspension tech out of the water," Ridetech's Blane Burnett said. "If you look close at our Mustang, you'll notice the FIA-certified sixpoint rollcage and fire suppression system. Both are indications that this Fox is being built for serious track duty, allowing us to highlight Ridetech's latest and greatest for the Fox platform."Denne historien er fra Winter 2025-utgaven av Hot Rod.
