The industry-academia link is propelling the automotive industry in the right direction. In the realm of ‘Design Thinking’ the World University of Design (WUD) is fostering innovation across disciplines like transportation design from its nerve centre in Sonipat, Haryana. Haryana known for bringing accolades in sports is making rapid strides in automotive design covering the spectrum end-to-end courtesy well-designed course curriculum since 2016 with WUD as one example as per Dr Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor of the World University of Design. Conceptualised in 2015 and operational since 2016, WUD has broken down traditional silos by integrating diverse creative streams under one roof. “As the country’s only design-focused university, WUD has broken barriers and brought together diverse creative streams. Offering programs in design, visual arts, performing arts, transportation design, design management, architecture, and more, the institution has rapidly become a hub for fostering innovation and creativity,” Dr Gupta stated.
