|November 2023
AT THE 63RD SIAM ANNUAL SUMMIT, THE STAKEHOLDERS OF THE CV INDUSTRY RESET THEIR GOALS. ASHISH BHATIA DRAWS INSIGHTS ON PRIORITY FOCUS AREAS.
The SIAM Annual Summit, in its 63rd edition, continues to be a pivotal event for stakeholders in the commercial vehicle industry, drawing over 1,500 delegates, including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), components suppliers, and Government officials. This year’s summit, held shortly after India’s remarkable achievements in space exploration and the conclusion of the G20 Summit hosted by India, set a vibrant backdrop for discussions on the automotive sector. The government representatives commended the industry’s efforts and outlined ambitious targets to uphold India’s status as a rapidly growing economy and a potential global manufacturing hub. The air was charged with optimism as actionable insights and future growth prospects were discussed, supported by joint research reports. Notably, a background paper by SIAM and McKinsey & Co. laid the foundation, with ACMA and McKinsey & Co. releasing a report titled ‘Mobility 360° – Sustainability for Competitiveness,’ providing a comprehensive framework for the discussions that ensued.
