2024 MERCEDES-AMG S63 E PERFORMANCE
Whatever long word the Germans have for "no replacement for displacement" once applied to AMG's vehicles. Remember the 6.8-liter in the "Red Pig" Mercedes-Benz 300SEL and the Hammer's 6.0liter V-8s in the '80s? But now, well into the 21st century, electric motors and turbos are replacing displacement.
Take the 2024 Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance. It adopts an advanced hybrid system to complement the 603hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8. The S63's hybrid powertrain focuses "less on electric range and more on best-in-class performance," with AMG presenting the combined output of 791 horsepower as evidence.
