Opel has revived the Frontera nameplate once attached to its rugged Isuzu Frontier-based SUV from the 1990s and attached it to a stylish looking crossover set to arrive here next year.

OPEL FRONTERA
Ditching its predecessor's body-on-frame construction for a monocoque incorporating a stretched version of the Stellantis 'Smart Car' platform that underpins the new Citroën C3 Aircross, the Frontera's 4 400 mm overall length eclipses that of the Opel Grandland X it purportedly replaces.
In a far cry from its utilitarian forebear, the new Frontera incorporates rakish styling elements such as the Opel Vizor grille, as well as the Pure Panel instrument/ infotainment displays, incorporating a brace of 10-inch panels.
