Dark Side of the Sun

The Odysse Sun is a basic electric scooter, but even then, the baseline feels like a compromise on the ride quality and safety

THERE ARE USUALLY TWO KINDS OF PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD. Take my uncle for example—he's in his 60s, incredibly tech-savvy, and won't step out for groceries without firing up Google Maps. And then there's my 28-year-old friend who happily rides his analog, old-school Activa for 50 km every day without a hint of digital dependence. The Odysse Sun electric scooter clearly belongs to the latter mindset—a machine built simply to get you from point A to point B, nothing more, nothing less.

Odysse is a Mumbai-based electric two-wheeler brand with their plant located in Ahmedabad. They have a total of 13 different two-wheelers on sale. Out of the 13, nine are scooters and only the Sun is distinguishable in terms of design. Personally, I am not a fan of the design of the Sun. Its styling feels underwhelming; the fit-and-finish is acceptable at best, and the dark colour scheme resembles a night sky more than something named “Sun.”
