Bezzecchi is Silverstone's 11th Different Winner
Bike India
|June 2025
Marco Bezzecchi's maiden Aprilia win was only part of a chaotic thriller that took place at the 2025 MotoGP British Grand Prix
SILVERSTONE HAS HAD an interesting trend in producing a different winner for the last 10 editions of the MotoGP British Grand Prix. For the 2025 edition, however, that streak looked in threat to be broken as it was once again the 2021 premier class champion and the winner of the 2021 race, Fabio Quartararo’s (Monster Energy Yamaha), taking a hat-trick of pole positions, a clear sign of Yamaha's upward trajectory. Lining up in second position was Alex Márquez (Gresini Racing), with two-time premier class champion, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), lining up third on the grid.
Sprint
DESPITE THEIR QUALIFYING form, it looks like Yamaha still have some way to go in terms of Sprint pace as Quartararo lost the lead to the six-time premier class champion, Marc Márquez (Ducati Lenovo Team), who pulled off a brilliant start from fourth on the grid. While things looked like another Marc Márquez domination, his brother, Alex, was close behind and took full advantage of a mistake by Marc to take the lead. Crucially, he didn't look back and went on to get the better of his elder brother. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Team) managed to finish third after an intense five-rider scrap. Pole-sitter Fabio Quartararo had to settle for seventh position.
