Three weekends to go and the British Touring Car Championship promises yet another nail-biter in a title battle that should go to the wire. The series will pitch up at Donington Park this weekend, then head to Silverstone next month before the traditional Brands Hatch climax in early October.

At the top of the table, Tom Ingram and Ash Sutton are split by just 17 points, and with third-placed Dan Cammish a further 78 points adrift, we're set for a classic head-to-head between the top two drivers of the modern Knockhill earlier this month, Ingram and Sutton were focused almost exclusively on each other across three pulsating races at the undulating Scottish track. They started the weekend eight points apart but, on a track that always suits the rear-wheel-drive BMWs, both knew keeping their points tallies ticking over would most likely be the priority over race victories. Sure enough, BMWs locked out the front three spots in qualifying, but Ingram was satisfied to line up fourth for race one in his Hyundai, especially with Sutton's Ford down in a lowly 10th. Advantage Ingram as he chased his second BTCC crown.

Monaco Grand Prix descends into chaos
Whatever madness might occur on the streets of Monaco this weekend, you can be sure it won't match the chaos of the 1982 grand prix — in a Formula 1 season that was unique in its unpredictability.
