Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II

FIRST DRIVE A host of subtle updates improve the not-so-subtle Cullinan, and the Series II still provides a full Rolls-Royce experience
WE can get into the argument over whether cars like a Rolls-Royce Cullinan should even exist, but if we consider it on its own merits, the recently updated Cullinan Series II is an incredible vehicle. Operating above a Range Rover or Bentley Bentayga in the automotive pecking order, the Cullinan is a car that its maker refuses to call an SUV. Instead, it offers a genuine Rolls-Royce experience with a higher driving position.
The Cullinan arrived in 2018, and the Series II introduces updates that focus on its styling, interior and tech, rather than its fundamental mechanics. The changes are most obvious outside, where the controversial styling has been given a more distinctive face around the traditional pantheon grille. The headlights are slimmer and feature a much larger daytime running light signature that flows down the front of the car. The lower bumper is also new, and this is the first Rolls-Royce in a very long time to diverge from a 'horizontal and vertical' design language. Or in layman's terms, there are now diagonal lines where previously there weren't.
Beyond this, the exhaust outlets are now bigger, and a particularly dazzling addition is the set of optional 23-inch wheels. Their intricate design with highly polished details catches the sunlight and makes the car sparkle as it drives along.

MIKE RUTHERFORD
WELCOME to 2026, in which I'm expecting yet another major political U-turn, more public transport inefficiency and rip-offs, a renaissance in the threatened - but now seemingly safe - small-car sector, and lots of great deals from a leasing industry offering some new models for pennies per hour.
