-
Tucked away within the picturesque botanical gardens of Antwerp lies the Botanic Sanctuary, a meticulously restored 13th-century monastery turned luxury hotel. This stunning property boasts an intriguing blend of historic charm and modern sophistication, offering guests an unparalleled hospitality experience. The hotel’s architecture is a masterful blend of old and new, with ancient walls and historic buildings carefully integrated with modern design elements. The former monastery’s original structures, dating back to the 13th century, have been meticulously restored to preserve their historic integrity. The result is a unique and captivating atmosphere that transports guests through time.
A GREEN HAVEN Upon entering the hotel, guests are greeted by a beautiful grass house surrounded by lush greenery and quaint reception desks with staff with beautiful smiles behind them, offering a warm welcome. The seating area, which doubles as a reading lounge and relaxation zone, offers a summer feel throughout the year with its warm and cosy décor, coupled with the greenery outside. The lines between the inside and outside are blurred, for good! Every detail in the hotel is aesthetic, functional, and thoughtful. From the placement of mirrors to the seating in the passages, the choice of neutrals to keep one close to nature, the selection of botanicals to the fabulous collection of artworks from local artists, every element contributes to a delightful experience for the guests.

MUSING MUSEUMS
A few months back, when I was in Budapest, I walked into a building that left me awestruck. The inquisitive me went on to explore, and I discovered that it was a museum with pixels on the exterior and that the curved structure of the building dipped underground to form the interiors, even as the garden I was walking on was the green roof of the building that interjected at street level! Woah! I quickly took some pictures and went on to research this building, and the more I read about it, the more I fell in love with it. And then of course I had to share it with you all!
