Alpaca know how at a glance

Doug Steen of Teesdale Alpacas explains why he devised the Alpaca Infographic and how
-
Having kept alpacas and been involved in alpaca welfare for many years I felt that there was a need for a very basic overview to inform those considering (or merely curious about) alpaca ownership. Although there is a wealth of information spread across multiple documents/media I couldn't think of a simple one-page graphic highlighting key facts and so decided to produce one myself.
I contacted a few people to get a bit of a steer on the content and then worked with 'The Vet Shed' and a local graphic designer 'Lightning Signs' to produce the final document. The need for simplicity and readability requires this cover only the basic essentials that prospective/new owners need to consider when thinking about keeping these fascinating and rewarding creatures.
With luck this infographic will give those thinking about keeping alpacas some help in identifying key requirements in advance and a give starting point for doing more research (for example the BAS has fact sheets and videos which are vet checked and peer reviewed with lists of literature/books on all aspects of health and welfare).
