Sanciano hits the spot

A two-year-old filly scores her first pass to HOYS, a Welsh section C broodmare claims the in-hand supreme and a coloured mare makes history

YOLANDA and Spencer Olson's two-year-old sports filly Sanciano (Dorothy) was in a “league of her own” according to judge Cathy Wood, who selected her as the final champion to go forward to the Price Family supreme in-hand championship at Horse of the Year Show (HOYS).

Produced and shown here by Scott Dixon, Dorothy is by Santo Hit - himself by renowned dressage superstar sire Sandro Hit - and qualified for the semifinal championship here by taking the supreme in-hand title at Kent County.

This was only Dorothy's third show of the season, having also taken the riding horse breeding championship at Midland Counties, and she duly gave her owners their first-ever ticket to HOYS.
