If you want a good listener, this is the cat for you. They make great pets but expect enough petting time from their parent. They will sit with you at leisure while at the same time waiting for playtime, when they can nip at their toy mouse or climb upon their cat trees and perches. That’s the Burmese, an active cat with a curiosity to kill and a silent streak that makes them efficient observers and suitable companions.

When you lift the Burmese, you will realise you have quite a weight on your hands. They may look compact and small but have a heavy structure under their short and glossy coat. The coat darkens from a milk chocolate colour in a kitten to a lush sable brown in an adult. Kitten or adult, the cat is a cute one with a small, rounded head and eyes that stare straight at you, wideset, round and yellow or golden. The ears stand upright at attention and the tail is tapered, may be either straight or slightly crooked at the tip.
