Experts express alarm that the average global sea surface temperature hit new highs this summer
AS THE CLIMATE CRISIS CONTINUES to escalate, the surface temperature of the world's oceans has reached its highest ever level. Researchers at the EU's Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) found that in July 2023 the global average daily sea surface temperatures reached 20.96°C, breaking the previous record of 20.95°C set back in 2016.
