Remaining Fit In Summer
Woman's Era
|May Second 2017
Cooling it.

Is the rising sun already forcing you to lose out on your fitness game? You’re not the only one feeling sluggish and fired in summer, the rising temperature often causes irritation, stress, exhaustion, heartburn, fatigue and dizziness. Also it is easy to gain weight when it’s hot. Heat can lower your metabolism and cause you to lose your stamina, say naturopaths.
While all these things might work against you, it’s important not to lose track of your fitness.
Exercise comfortable: Just because it’s hot doesn’t mean you have to stop exercising. You can get used to exercising in the heat and use strategies such as switching to water sports, avoiding the sun when its strongest and exercising in short bursts.
Precooling techniques can also prevent you from overheating when you work in hot weather. It is very important to stay correctly hydrated and it’s easy to do so with a simple formula. Ideally, you should start drinking water or other liquids at least 15 minutes before exercising. For every 20 minutes spent working out, eight glasses of water should be consumed. This is where water loss during exercising comes into play, therefore weigh yourself before and after your workout.
Theoretically for every kilo you’ve lost you should drink 16 ounces of water.
Pick up right sport: Some sports become more popular in the summer as a way to stay cool like surfing, swimming and diving. A great way to beat the heat is to mix your cardio while staying in water. It also increases your resistance power and helps you stay away from the heat.
