Make The Change Happen Don't wait.

It does not happen to all, but if you find your life is stagnating, well, now is a time to make those changes. There is the need to look at change in life as a positive process. It may have to begin with your work place itself. So, go ahead. When a change has to be made it has to be made. But most women do not make a conscious decision to change the city of work, as when we live in India we need to keep in mind safety concerns, as we see in the news channels and in newspapers women are not entirely safe in unfamiliar cities. But that has to change. If women want to feel refreshed on the work front, they must, of course, take precautions.
Change of location
It may be a little scary, but a change in location may be the right option if you feel your work position is stagnating because you are stuck in a position and there is no place for you at the next higher level. Women in India do not look at it as an option because of the unsafe environment in an unfamiliar city. Seriously, that has to change. The government needs to put into place a system where women can move to cities without worrying about safe living places. It may not be possible for the government to do it alone. They could begin with encouraging flat owners to make available accommodation for working women, which are safe, offer incentives, so mobility of working women is encouraged, laterally area wise among a company’s many offices, as well as city-wise to a new job. Women can seek work and work towards better pay cheques. They should not be constrained by security issues alone. Women IT professionals, never think twice before taking up projects abroad, because of the safe living environs. But in India that is a concern, so only the very bold venture out.
