The Lexicon Art Gallery held its Annual Exhibition 'Manthan' recently at the India Habitat Center, New Delhi delighting not only the art aficionados of the city but others too who happened to be there. The title 'Manthan' which means churning in English is quite apt as the Gallery had thoughtfully chosen and displayed works of 31 Contemporary Indian Visual Artists from an array of artists including some very well known names to others who have the potential to become so. 'Manthan' or churning has a deep meaning in Indian philosophy and mythology. There are works deeply connected overtly with mythology playing an important role in them and there are others covertly looking at the Self and posing an enquiry to oneself which is another form of churning.
