As the Irwin family feud heats up, the new mum takes a break to look after her mental health

Bindi Irwin has sensationally announced she is stepping down from her public work following a fierce backlash after she spoke out against her grandfather Bob last week.

In a scathing comment posted online, Bindi, 22, uncharacteristically slammed Bob, 82, claiming he had ignored her since she was a “little girl” and that their strained relationship has caused her “enormous pain”. Since the post went viral and caused uproar among her estranged family, Bindi has released a statement saying she will be taking a break from her life in the public eye in order to be with her three-month-old daughter, Grace Warrior.

“I need some time to focus on the happiness that is my family. Mental health deserves more understanding and support instead of being dismissed or patronised,” she wrote.

FLEEING THE ZOO

With Bindi emotionally stepping back from the place, and work, she’s known all her life, there’s no doubt she’ll lean heavily on her mother Terri for support in the coming weeks.
