But as the Wales brothers’ war rages on into 2021, Woman’s Day is told Kate, 38, has privately decided to step in and heal their debilitating rift. “Catherine hates seeing what this is doing to William,” a palace insider tells. “She’s never seen him more frustrated, angry and – worst of all – sad.

“Falling out with Harry has been a grieving process for Wills, and Kate has had a front-row seat to his pain. He often talks about how Harry leaving the family feels like his fault when it certainly isn’t.

“Anyone who knows Harry understands he has a hot temper and is stubborn, and throwing notoriously difficult Meghan into the mix was the perfect storm.”
