Ever since February, when she became a mum for the first time, Princess Eugenie has been “walking on air”, according to friends.

“She is absolutely loving all of it, from the midnight feeds to the 4am nappy changes,” says a source.

“She doesn’t have household help like almost all the rest of the royals. Being a mum to her little boy has given her renewed purpose.”

The friend says Eugenie, 31, is “obsessed” with August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, and “has barely spent a second apart from him since he was born”.

“But she’s already ruing that her happy, active little one is growing too fast – he’s already crawling! – and she’s keen to hold on to those baby years as long as possible.”

Now one of Eugenie’s closest friends has told Woman’s Day that, mere months after she gave birth, Eugenie has already been talking openly about how she “can’t wait to go again” – and husband Jack Brooksbank, 35, is said to be just as keen as his wife on having baby number two.

“Eugenie would love to give August a sibling close in age, especially given she had such a fantastic childhood with her close bond with Princess Beatrice, who is only a year and a half older than her,” says our insider. “As soon as Eugenie felt physically up to it, her and Jack began trying again.”
