Coldplay superfan Salvador overcame his illness to see the band perform again

Lying in a hospital bed in 2016, 16-year-old Salvador Vargas' smile was huge when Coldplay star Chris Martin walked in the door of his room in Hospital General de Mexico.

Salvador, who lives in Michoacan, Mexico, was receiving treatment for Guillain-Barre syndrome - an illness that affects the central nervous system and can cause muscle weakness and paralysis.

Connected to a mechanical ventilator, Salvador's spirits had been at an all-time low, until his mother realised she had the perfect way to make her son smile again.
