How refreshing to have another strong female in power

Who was your role model when you were a little girl? Your mum? A favourite teacher? A pop star? Weirdly, mine was a politician. Margaret Thatcher to be precise. Not because of her politics, but simply because we had a female Prime Minister for the first time. And for a girl raised by a very old-school dad who wouldn’t get on a bus if it was driven by a woman, this was HUGE.

Moving on several decades – and again regardless of politics – it really is a bit special that America now has its first female vice president.
