When Ranvir Singh shot to fame on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020, the public knew very little about her private life. We knew she was a single mum of one son, a Good Morning Britain regular and a political journalist, but little more than that.

Now the TV star is a household name, but behind the sparkle of the celebrity world, Ranvir, 44, has been hiding a devastating secret - she was sexually assaulted as a child.

Admitting that at the tender age of 12 something terrible had happened, Ranvir said, 'It happened once - and that person is dead now - and so I have an understanding of what it's like and why you would never want to speak of it again.
