The technique that was first used by German dermatologist Ernst Kromayer in 1905; he created a device made of rotating burrs that were attached to a dental drill to gradually remove any unwanted layers on the surface of the skin. Yes, we have come a long way since then and are using dermarollers as the tools they are today. Dermarolling has, since then, gained immense popularity as a non-surgical skin enhancing option.
